We're studying about the human body in Science right now. One of the sections is on the 5 senses. So to have some fun, I decided to do a little experiment to test their senses, minus their sense of sight. Susan (the other person I teach with) and I blindfolded our kids and put different foods in front of them. They had to see if they could figure out what they were tasting without looking at it. There were 18 total, and the kids did a pretty good job figuring out what they were.It was quite funny listening to their comments when they first touched or tasted it. Some of the foods included: margarine, honey, mustand, salsa, nutella, mayonnaise, applesauce, chocolate, jelly, peanut butter, sugar, etc. Johanna devoured almost everything, and Nathan couldn't get enough of the mayonnaise. (Even though after he claimed to not like mayo... but we have proof on camera) Yes, right now it's times like these that are the highlights of my days.

Weekend Madness
Ok....so my very dear and pushy (joke lang) friend informed me that it has been about 3 weeks since I've posted anything and she is getting tired of checking on my blog only to be dissapointed. Well not to name any names or anything, but Val, this post is for you :-) I'll give you a little rundown of my weekend. Friday night was probably the greatest night I've had in the Philippines. I went out with Josh & Val Manthe, and my friend Chris Cordova.
Some would call it a double date... others would call it good friends hanging out.... whatever floats your boat I guess. We went to my favorite mall Eastwood where we ate at a nice spot called Jack's Loft, got $5 foot massages, and then chatted for a while at Starbucks. But I had to get my fav Chai Latte from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Val and I weren't ready to call it a night yet so we suggested hitting a Kareoke place. Josh and Val sang "Margaritaville"
and Chris serenaded us with "obla-dee, obla-da"....very nice. I've come to the realization that I'm a really good singer when I'm in my car, by myself, with the windows up, and the radio blaring. Other than that....no. So Val was gracious enough to sing "Sk8er Boi" with me. It was my only number of the night out of respect for the others who were within ear shot. Saturday Chris and I hit up Eastwood again where we ate (again), watched "Premonition" and took random pictures with some statues.
This morning went to church at Poolside Baptist with Pastor Sun, ate at McDo (man I eat a lot), and now I should be doing work for school...but I had to post something before Val stops talking to me :-) I'll try to post a little more now...try.

Heaven on Earth
Last night Rebecca, Rachael, Christan, Mary and I found Heaven on Earth....
It's a place in Makati City called The Chocolate Bar. It's a little restaurant that is oozing with chocolate!!! Pretty much every woman's dream! There are so many drinks, desserts, bars, cookies, and everything else you could dream up that involves 100% pure chocolate.
I ordered a delicious drink that had a shot of espresso, milk chocolate, and vanilla blended together. Mary and I shared what was called "Fondu for Two". AHHHHHHH.........it was wonderful just wonderful. They had huge bins that kept the choclate warm and from there it traveled through choclate pipes to the dispenser. My dream now is to swim in a bin full of chocolate.....with my mouth wide open!
